The 1949 Drews Volkswagen Sport-Cabriolet is a very rare post-war car, made in Germany. It is the result of the work of coachbuilder Gerhard Drews, who was able to take advantage of the popularity of the Volkswagen Beetle to offer a sporty, elegant and original convertible version.
Produced from 1947 to the early 1950s, based on VW Typ 1 chassis. The all-hand-made aluminum body was wider and longer than that of the standard Beetle. The Drews Sport-Cabriolet is a strict two-seater, whose style is reminiscent of pre-war roadsters; the finish was very high-end for the time (full leather, custom dashboards...).
