NOREV

Norev is a French model car manufacturer based in Villeurbanne, near Lyon, founded in 1946 by brothers Joseph, Paul, and Émile Véron (the name “Norev” is their surname spelled backwards). Initially, the company produced plastic toys (watches, children’s accessories) and, in 1953, launched its first miniature car: the Simca 9 Aronde, made from rhodialite, an innovative plastic at the time. It was an instant success, and other iconic French models soon followed: Citroën Traction, Renault 4CV, Peugeot 203, Citroën DS…

In the 1960s, Norev made its mark with popular and colorful miniatures. The 1970s saw the introduction of die-cast metal models with the famous “Jet-Car” and “Mini-Jet” series. At its peak, the factory employed hundreds and produced up to 100,000 cars per day! In 1986, Norev shifted toward the high-end collector’s market, expanding its range and collaborating with brands like Peugeot, Citroën, and Renault to produce official promotional models. Norev has also reissued many historical models and continues today to manufacture miniatures in all scales (1/12, 1/18, 1/43, 1/64, 1/87), with a particular focus on realism and quality.

Norev remains an iconic brand, loved by collectors and miniature car fans worldwide.
