The car depicted is based on the Broadspeed GT 2+2, a heavily modified BMC Mini Cooper S created by Broadspeed Engineering in the mid‑1960s, featuring a redesigned fastback rear body and tuned engines aimed at both road use and racing. Broadspeed first gained fame by successfully campaigning Mk I Minis in saloon car racing in the early 1960s, scoring numerous wins in touring car events and earning factory support thanks to its results.
