Reference: Troféu RRBE69 — Manufacturer: Troféu (1:43 scale, die-cast model, RRBE Belgian exclusive series)
This detailed die-cast scale model replicates the formidable Group A Ford Sierra RS Cosworth campaigned at the 1988 Boucles de Spa, the iconic winter curtain-raiser of the Belgian Rally Championship and a blue-ribbon round of the European Rally Championship (ERC). A defining rear-wheel-drive weapon of late-1980s rallying, the Sierra was powered by the explosive 2.0-liter turbocharged 16-valve four-cylinder engine developed by Cosworth, generating nearly 300 horsepower under heavy boost. Wearing an authentic period competition livery adorned with prominent sponsors and official event rally plates, the car was entrusted to local hero and master of the Ardennes, Belgian ace Marc Duez, co-driven by Frenchman Pierre Thimonier.
Tackling legendary Ardennes stages such as La Clémentine, Creppe, and Ster—notorious for their treacherous mix of bumpy asphalt, loose gravel, deep mud, and patches of ice typical of Belgian winter weather—wrestling a high-horsepower turbo rear-drive machine required supreme car control. Exploiting his legendary sideways driving style, lightning reflexes, and intimate stage knowledge, Duez put on an extraordinary show for the thousands of fans lining the stages while waging a fierce fight against four-wheel-drive opposition. Produced in Portugal by Troféu under their exclusive Belgian rally collection, this miniature captures every defining feature: the signature "whale-tail" rear spoiler, competition multi-spoke wheels, detailed cockpit, and razor-sharp period racing graphics.
