The Opel Blitz Hahn “Opel Service” (1965–1975) is one of the most iconic German trucks of the post-war era. This compact lorry was the backbone of Opel dealerships, used to deliver parts and cars, and offering quick Roadside and workshop service—a symbol of Germany’s "economic miracle".
Through several generations, the 1965 Blitz was updated with a modern body, Opel petrol engines (with later Peugeot diesels), and up to 2.4 tons payload. It was delivered in the iconic blue “Opel Service” livery with official markings.
Production ended in 1975 and the Blitz was replaced by Bedford trucks in the GM network, but in popular memory, the Blitz remains the go‑to van for “competition service” and “rapid rescue.”
This classic model is faithfully produced in 1:43 scale by MATRIX (MX51502-022), perfect for utility vehicle enthusiasts and those keen on Opel history.
