Spark presents a high-detail 1/18 resin scale model of the factory Shelby American Inc. #9 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, powered by the formidable 4.7-liter Ford V8 engine as driven by American racing legends Dan Gurney and Jerry Grant at the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans. Designed by Pete Brock for high-speed aerodynamics down the Mulsanne Straight, the car qualified in a strong 11th position overall (fastest in the GT class). Showing incredible pace in the opening half of the race, the duo was unfortunately forced to retire during the 15th hour (completing 204 laps) due to engine overheating and a blown head gasket.
