Spark — S5395 | McLaren MP4/2 No. 8 — Niki Lauda (Winner British Grand Prix — Brands Hatch 1984)
Designed by John Barnard, the McLaren MP4/2 stands as one of the most dominant cars in Formula 1 history. Featuring a pioneering full carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and the iconic "Coke-bottle" rear sidepod shaping, it was powered by the formidable 1.5-liter TAG-Porsche V6 turbo engine.
At the 1984 British Grand Prix held on the challenging Brands Hatch circuit, Austrian legend Niki Lauda put on a tactical masterclass aboard car #8. Taking charge after teammate Alain Prost retired, Lauda expertly managed his race pace and tire wear to cross the line in 1st place (Race Winner), capturing a crucial victory on his path to securing his third World Drivers' Championship.
