This precision die-cast scale model replicates the sharp Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV (Bertone) #24 campaigned at the legendary 1973 Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo, the opening round of the inaugural FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). Competing in Group 1 (Series Touring Cars), this rear-wheel-drive Italian coupe was powered by Alfa's spirited 1,962cc twin-cam inline-four engine producing around 132 horsepower, lauded for its punchy mid-range torque and crisp handling dynamics on mountain passes. Finished in a striking red competition livery highlighted by a distinctive broad yellow racing stripe running over the hood and roof, the car was piloted by French ace Gérard Larrousse, co-driven by Christian Delferier.
Tackling the notoriously treacherous, snow- and ice-covered alpine asphalt of the French Alps—including nighttime blasts over the Col de Turini—the Alfa Romeo excelled amid brutal attrition that sidelined dozens of competitors. Exercising supreme car control and consistent stage times against the dominant factory Alpine-Renault A110s and works Ford Escort RS1600s, Larrousse and Delferier brought the Italian coupe home to secure 19th place overall and a commanding Group 1 class victory. Crafted in Portugal by Troféu, this scale model features authentic period rally details, including the four-headlight front fascia with bumper-mounted auxiliary Cibié fog lamps, official Monte-Carlo rally plates, period-correct steel wheels, and sharp sponsor graphics.
