Spark — S3370 | Penske PC4 No. 28 — John Watson (Winner Austrian Grand Prix — Österreichring 1976)
Designed by Geoff Ferris for Roger Penske's American outfit, the PC4 proved to be one of the most elegant and competitive cars of the 1976 Formula 1 season, powered by the ubiquitous 3.0-liter Ford-Cosworth DFV V8 engine.
At the 1976 Austrian Grand Prix held on the high-speed and swept contours of the Österreichring, Northern Irish driver John Watson etched his name into the record books aboard car #28. Driving a masterful race, he crossed the line in 1st place (Race Winner), capturing the first and only Formula 1 victory for Penske Racing. The win became iconic not just for the team's triumph, but also for Watson fulfilling a famous bet by shaving off his trademark beard right after the podium!
