The AGS JH24 #40, driven by Italian Gabriele Tarquini, entered practice for the 1989 British Grand Prix at Silverstone with the AGS team. Powered by a Ford Cosworth DFR engine, the car faced a tough grid. Unfortunately, Tarquini failed to qualify for the race: neither AGS driver managed to prequalify with the JH24, reflecting the struggles of small teams in the fiercely competitive Formula 1 of the late 1980s.
