The Alfa Romeo 6C 2500S Berlinetta Touring 1939 embodies the pre-war Italian elegance and engineering prowess. The last evolution of Vittorio Jano’s legendary 6C line, the 2500S (Sport) features a 2,443cc inline-six delivering up to 110 horsepower in its sportiest guise. Its featherweight body, crafted by Touring with the iconic Superleggera technique, made it a true rolling work of art—blending performance, refinement, and aerodynamic sophistication.
Debuting at the 1939 Berlin Motor Show, the 6C 2500 Sport Berlinetta Touring stood as the pinnacle of automotive innovation on the eve of WWII. Only about a dozen were built with this “Superleggera” body in 1939, and several found their way to noteworthy period figures, including famous industrialists and, as some stories suggest, even Benito Mussolini.
Anecdote: After WWII, surviving examples became incredibly valuable due to the small production and rarity. Restored examples went on to win top concours d’élégance prizes, such as at Villa d’Este, Lake Como.
This masterpiece of Italian design is faithfully reproduced in 1:43 scale by MATRIX (ref. MX40102-261), making it a centerpiece for Alfa Romeo enthusiasts and historic car collectors alike.
