The Audi R10 TDI no.8, driven by Frank Biela, Emanuele Pirro, and Marco Werner, won the 2006 24 Hours of Le Mans. This victory was historic, as it was the first time a diesel-powered car triumphed at the famous race. The R10 proved incredibly fast, consistent, and efficient, allowing the team to finish 4 laps ahead of the Pescarolo C60 of Hélary, Montagny, and Loeb, covering 380 laps in total. The sister Audi R10 no.7 completed the podium, cementing Audi’s dominance.
