Spark — S1739 | BRM P153 No. 1 — Pedro Rodríguez (Winner Belgian Grand Prix — Spa-Francorchamps 1970)
Designed by Tony Southgate, the BRM P153 signaled a resurgence for British Racing Motors in the early 1970s, powered by the roaring 3.0-liter in-house V12 engine tucked into a distinctive "Coke-bottle" shaped monocoque chassis.
At the 1970 Belgian Grand Prix held on the legendary 14-kilometer, ultra-fast old Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Mexican master Pedro Rodríguez delivered an unforgettable drive. Running under car #1, he held off a relentless charge from Chris Amon to claim a historic victory, taking 1st place (Race Winner) at an astonishing average speed exceeding 240 km/h.
