Spark — S9358 | Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6 2.5 No. 23 (5th Tour de Corse – Rallye de France 1985)
A dominant contender in Group A touring and rally competition throughout the mid-1980s, the Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6 derived its character from the legendary 2.5-liter 12-valve "Busso" V6 engine, producing roughly 240 horsepower in race specification. Featuring a sophisticated rear transaxle layout with a de Dion rear axle, the Milanese coupe achieved an optimal 50/50 front-to-rear weight balance, delivering sublime poise, crisp steering response, and strong traction on fast asphalt roads.
Carrying start number #23, this GTV6 was piloted by local Corsican hero and tarmac maestro Yves Loubet, navigated by co-driver Jean-Bernard Vieu. Navigating the notoriously unforgiving, narrow mountain roads of the "Rally of 10,000 Turns", Loubet extracted everything from the Italian coupe against far more powerful Group B machinery and specialist Porsche 911 SC RS entries. The pairing delivered an exceptional performance to finish in 5th place overall, claiming a commanding victory in Group A.
