This definitive scale model replicates the legendary Jaguar XJR-9 #60 entered by Castrol Jaguar Racing (Tom Walkinshaw Racing / TWR), historic overall winner of the 1988 24 Hours of Daytona (SunBank 24 at Daytona). Designed by Tony Southgate and powered by Jaguar's glorious, naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12 engine, this IMSA GTP icon features the world-famous white, green, and red Castrol livery. The winning car was driven by a powerhouse lineup: Martin Brundle, Raul Boesel, and John Nielsen (joined in the later stages by Jan Lammers following the retirement of his sister car).
Challenging the formidable Porsche 962 armada that had reigned supreme in North American endurance racing for years, the British machine delivered a legendary performance on the 31-degree banking and technical infield of Daytona International Speedway. Combining ferocious straight-line speed, unwavering mechanical reliability, and tactical poise through dense multi-class traffic, the #60 roared across the finish line to claim overall victory at the 1988 Daytona 24 Hours. The landmark success snapped Porsche's multi-year winning streak at the Florida classic and set the stage for Jaguar's historic triumph at the 24 Hours of Le Mans later that season.
