The Dauer 962 LM n°36, driven by Mauro Baldi, Yannick Dalmas, and Hurley Haywood, won the 1994 24 Hours of Le Mans. Entered by the Le Mans Porsche Team, this car—based on the Porsche 962 and modified for the GT1 class—took advantage of favorable regulations. After a fierce battle against the factory Toyotas, the Dauer Porsche claimed victory when the leading Toyota suffered mechanical issues ninety minutes before the finish. The triumph was both strategic and controversial, rewarding reliability and tactical excellence.
