Spark SJ152 – Lancia 037 no.27 Naohiro Furuya, GT1 JGTC Japan 1994 (Fuji), 1/43 scale resin model. This Spark model depicts the Lancia 037 entered by Rosso Competition in the 1994 Japanese GT Championship at Fuji Speedway, racing against much more modern GT machinery such as Nissan Skylines and Porsche 962s. Despite the car’s age and performance handicap, Naohiro Furuya managed to finish the race 12th overall and 9th in the GT1 class, seven laps down on the winning Team Taisan Porsche 962C, in what would be the 037’s only JGTC appearance. The model features the Martini livery, circuit-spec bodywork and racing wheels, with a sealed body (no opening parts) on a display base with clear cover. Limited to 300 units, it is a fascinating piece for collectors of Lancia 037 and unusual Japanese GT stories.
