SCALE MODELS SPARK

SPARK Model has its roots in a family tradition of modeling. Hugues Ripert, the founder, grew up in the world of automotive miniatures since his parents ran a small modeling company called Record. André Ripert, his father, was one of the co-founders of this legendary brand. In 1998, while still working for Ixo, Hugues Ripert launched Mininax, his own company. 

The name "SPARK" comes to him one evening while looking for "something short and dynamic, which has something to do with motorsport". The first SPARK models were created in 2000. The initial strategy was revolutionary: focus on the "bottom of the grid" cars of the 24 Hours of Le Mans that were abandoned by major manufacturers such as Minichamps and Ixo. 

In July 2021, the Simba-Dickie Group (owner of Schuco) acquired a stake in Minimax (SPARK's parent company). The goal was to create a joint distribution network for the Schuco and SPARK models.
