Spark — S6746 | Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole / 5000 QV (1985)

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985 as Sant'Agata's definitive counterstrike to the Ferrari Testarossa, the Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole (5000 QV) remains the quintessential poster car of the 1980s. Visually distinguished by a prominent central hump on the rear engine lid—engineered to clear the new vertical downdraft carburetors—it amplified Marcello Gandini's wedge aesthetic with wider track dimensions, Kevlar rocker panels, telephone-dial Campagnolo alloy wheels wrapped in ultra-wide Pirelli P7 rubber, and the iconic delta rear wing.

The mechanical masterpiece beneath the decklid was a bored and stroked 5,167 cc (5.2-liter) naturally aspirated V12 fitted with new four-valve cylinder heads (48 valves in total). In this original European carbureted specification, fed by six vertical twin-barrel Weber 44 DCNF carburetors, output soared to an astonishing 455 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 500 Nm of torque. Channeled through a 5-speed gated manual transmission to the rear wheels, the 5000 QV launched from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds toward a blistering top speed of 295 km/h (183 mph), cementing its status as the fastest and most aggressive road-going Countach variant ever produced.
