This resin scale model (limited edition of 300 pieces) replicates the BMW E30 M3 Sport Evolution #7 entered by Watson's Team Schnitzer for the Macau Guia Race held on November 24, 1991. Piloted by German ace Joachim "Smokin' Jo" Winkelhock, the car carried the team's iconic green, white, and yellow Watson's livery.
Winkelhock's weekend in Macau proved to be a dramatic and heroic effort. After suffering a severe crash during practice that heavily damaged the car and injured his wrist, the Schnitzer crew worked wonders to rebuild the machine overnight. Starting the race in immense physical discomfort, Winkelhock put on a fiercely competitive show, engaging in a thrilling 10-lap dogfight for podium positions against Kurt Thiim's Mercedes 190E. Ultimately, severe wrist pain on the grueling street circuit proved too much to bear, forcing him into a heartbreaking retirement.
