Reference: Spark S9792 — Manufacturer: Spark Model (1:43 scale, resin model)
This definitive scale model replicates the historic Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo 2.1 #22 entered by the factory Martini Racing Team at the 1974 24 Hours of Le Mans. A monumental milestone in Porsche motorsport history, this prototype was the manufacturer's first-ever turbocharged racing iteration based on the 911 platform. Powered by a 2.1-liter flat-six engine fitted with a massive KKK turbocharger developing over 500 hp, the car wore the iconic silver livery accented by Martini Racing's famous dark blue, light blue, and red striping. It was piloted by the stellar pairing of Herbert Müller (Switzerland) and Gijs van Lennep (Netherlands).
Taking the fight directly to pure sports prototype machines such as the V12 Matra-Simca and Mirage-Ford squads, the #22 entry delivered an unforgettable performance around the Sarthe circuit. Even after losing fourth gear in the gearbox during the second half of the race, the drivers nursed the car while maintaining blistering straight-line speed along the Mulsanne Straight. Capitalizing on mechanical attrition among the frontrunners and impeccable pit-wall strategy, the Porsche secured an astonishing 2nd place overall finish, splitting the dominant Matra prototypes. Spark's craftsmanship captures every radical detail: the exaggerated flared rear arches, the massive matte-black rear wing, and the period wide-dish competition wheels.
