Reference: Spark S9913 — Manufacturer: Spark Model (1:43 scale, resin model)
This detailed scale model replicates the Porsche 911 GT2 (Type 993) #79 fielded by Konrad Motorsport at the 1997 24 Hours of Le Mans. Representing the ultimate air-cooled racing lineage of the 911, this GT2 powerhouse was driven by a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six pushing around 450 horsepower. Carrying its eye-catching white and turquoise racing livery featuring TSW Wheels and Notter Kanal-Dicht branding, the car was entrusted to the driver lineup of Michel Ligonnet (France), Toni Seiler (Switzerland), and Larry Schumacher (USA).
Competing in a fiercely contested GT2 class against the rising threat of the Chrysler Viper GTS-R and rival 911 privateers, the #79 machine ran a disciplined pace around the Sarthe circuit during the opening phases. Making full use of its mechanical traction through the technical sections and top-end punch down the Mulsanne Straight, the trio fought hard in the midfield. However, the endurance classic took its toll in the middle of the night when terminal mechanical failure forced the car into retirement on lap 126. Spark's precision model faithfully captures the 993 GT2's unmistakable stance, from the aggressive riveted fender flares to the signature bi-plane rear wing with integrated intercooler air scoops.
